New business to open in the former Priority Motorsports space

With three Allstate offices in the Wichita area, Kevin “Scooby” Hutchins knows all about people filing claims for paint and body work on their damaged vehicles.

However, for people trying to avoid filing a claim but who still need work done, Hutchins is now also opening a Maaco franchise, which he calls an affordable option for working-class people.

“I’ll be able to help those people,” Hutchins says.

He says most of the Maaco work will be between $500 and $2,500 jobs.

Hutchins and his wife, Stephanie, are opening their Maaco in the former Priority Motorsports space at 5817 E. Kellogg.

In addition to diversifying their businesses, Kevin Hutchins says Maaco also gives them an opportunity to be more about working on a business instead of working at it, meaning they’ll hire others to run it.

“I wanted something that goes along with what I do,” he says.

The business will take about 14,000 square feet of the building, which is most of it.

Look for the new Maaco franchise to open in February.
