Wichita company demolishes longtime headquarters while still considering future plans
The longtime Foley Equipment building at Harry and West streets has been empty since the company moved into new headquarters next door. Now, the old building is being demolished.
“It’s outlived its useful life,” says David Dickey, chief marketing officer.
The company slowly moved everything out of the building over the past couple of years.
Foley Equipment’s first headquarters was downtown. In the 1950s, the company built the single-story building at the northeast corner of Harry and West and then modified it in the ’60s and ’70s.
The building is being demolished this week.
“It just made more sense to bring it down,” Dickey says.
He says the property will then stay vacant for a bit before something new goes there.
“We have several really good thoughts for what we can do with the space.”
