SpringRo to open in former Tsunami space

A new restaurant is going to open near 37th and Woodlawn in the space where Tsunami recently closed.

Lan Tran is opening SpringRo at 6254 E. 37th St. North at the end of the month.

The restaurant will serve spring rolls and spring bowls. A bowl is similar to a spring roll but without a wrapper.

“This is almost like if you would put Chipotle and a sushi place together,” Tran says. “There will be a person right in front who will do all the rolling.”

SpringRo also will have shaved ice.

“It’s a very short menu,” Tran says.

She says the concept is “something brand new that we want to bring into Wichita.”

Tran says the restaurant’s focus will be “healthy, fresh and fast” food.

SpringRo will have dine-in seating but mainly will focus on to-go orders and will have a drive-through.

Chad Stafford, president of Occidental Management, handled the deal.

Though SpringRo likely will open at the end of June, the grand opening won’t be until early July.

Tran says she wants to “get the feel of it then have a grand opening.”
