Some people have noticed a lease sign in front of Bearden’s Stained Glass Supply and wondered what’s happening with the popular 40-year-old business.

“It’s just space for lease,” owner Randy Rayer says. “We’re not moving.”

The store is in 7,000 square feet at 6205 W. Kellogg just west of I-235.

“We have a big retail space that we’ve had a retail gallery in forever,” Rayer says.

He says the internet has greatly affected his business.

“The gift gallery really doesn’t work as well as it used to.”

He wants to lease part of the gallery space. There will be about 2,000 square feet for lease.

“I’ve got space for studio artists, and I’ve got a retail showroom,” Rayer says. “We want to focus on the arts.”
