The resurgence of Brittany Center continues with another large tenant
Brittany Center at 21st and Woodlawn continues to be revived by its new owner, Denver-based Bow River Capital.
In January, Have You Heard? reported that Vasa Fitness is opening in the 55,000 square feet where Xtreme Racing used to be, which many people know as the one-time Hobby Lobby space.
Now, Dollar Tree is taking the 12,800 square feet just south of where Vasa will open.
“It creates a lot of momentum going forward,” says Scott Harper of Landmark Commercial Real Estate.
Harper represented the center in the deal, and Landmark president and CEO Brad Saville represented Dollar Tree.
“Both of those new tenants will bring a lot of new traffic to the center,” Harper says.
He says that in turn will help Bow fill some of the other vacancies at the 210,450-square-foot center.
Bow purchased three prominent Wichita properties in December. In addition to Brittany, they include the 96,087-square-foot Normandie Center at Central and Woodlawn and the 56,611-square-foot Comotara Center at 29th and Rock Road.
The three centers had been in receivership for several years. Normandie and Brittany have particularly struggled with vacancies and maintenance issues.
Virginia-based Dollar Tree, which has 14,835 stores nationally and in Canada, is a variety store that sells everything for $1 or less. That includes health and beauty products, food, housewares, decor, electronics, cleaning supplies, toys, gifts, books, pet supplies and automotive supplies among other things.
Look for Dollar Tree and Vasa to both open this summer.
