AAA Kansas expands with insurance offices in Wichita

AAA Kansas has had a couple of Wichita offices — one near 21st and Maize Road and another near Central and Rock Road — for its travel and membership services.

“That’s the model we’ve had here,” says spokesman Shawn Steward.

Now, it has opened the first of what will be three insurance offices in the area.

“We’re doing this new insurance branch office to expand our services and be able to reach more people in more places,” Steward says.

The new office is at 4425 W. Zoo Boulevard near 13th Street. It is longtime AAA Insurance agent Butch Contreras’ office.

“He’s going to just expand out to his own space,” Steward says.

The other west-side office will bring in another agent to replace Contreras and offer the insurance services in both places.

“We’ve just started this expansion of our insurance services,” Steward says.

More offices will follow in Andover and Bel Aire this fall. The deals aren’t finalized for those spaces but will be soon.

“Insurance is a big part of our business,” Steward says. “We’re just looking at ways to have more touchpoints with our customers and potential customers.”
