Much like the cobbler’s children who don’t get new shoes, contractor Steve Peters has a new office but is so busy he can’t remodel it right away.

“I can’t keep up with what I’ve got going on,” says Peters, who has National Framing Construction.

Peters is a Wichita native who started his business out of state in 2013 and moved back here not quite a year ago.

He does custom home construction, including roofs and additions, and some commercial work.

National Framing has moved into the longtime Dee Jay Monogramming space at 716 W. Maple.

Ben Gartner of J.P. Weigand & Sons recently sold the 3,117-square-foot building to a new owner and then leased it within a month to Peters.

Peters eventually plans to make some improvements and add signage to the building. It’ll be at least several months before that happens, he says.

“It’s more of a storage locker right now than anything.”
