Avid Hotel to open on the east side in 2020

InterContinental Hotels Group is opening one of its Avid Hotels at Kellogg and Towne East Mall Drive. That's just north of Bubba's 33.

IHG will break ground early next year, and the 79-room hotel should open in the first quarter of 2020.

Avid is the latest brand for IHG. The company describes it as "designed with today’s midscale travelers in mind. These travelers want a hotel stay that finally meets their expectations for the type of hospitality they value most – the basics done exceptionally well – at a fair price."

IHG launched Avid last year and will open its first one in Oklahoma City in the third quarter of this year.
