After being courted by Towne West Square a couple of times, Positively Chic Boutique is moving there.

The store opened at 126 N. West St., which is just north of Douglas, a couple of years ago.

“It’s kind of a one-stop little gift shop,” says manager Nancy Toben.

The store sells clothing and shoes – resale and new – home decor, furnishings, jewelry and gifts, such as tea and note cards.

“You’re never going to see the same things twice,” Toben says.

She says the store also is known for its affordable prices.

“What we’re going to be offering when we move into Towne West is everything but the resale clothing and shoes,” Toben says. “That’s their condition at Towne West.”

There also will be a new area for men who accompany females to the store to sit and watch a big-screen TV and have a beverage.

Toben says the foot traffic at Towne West is the big appeal in moving.

“The foot traffic will hopefully increase,” she says.

“The ladies that are our regular customers, they want to keep us secret. They won’t share us.”

The store’s last day where it is will be May 23. There will be a soft opening in the new space on June 20 and a grand opening on June 27.

Toben says there will be two huge display windows at the store’s Towne West location to better showcase its merchandise.

“It really is a hidden treasure.”
