BNC National Bank is preparing to open a new west-side office next week.
The company has been in 7,000 square feet at 2868 N. Ridge Road for the last five years.
The new office will be in 3,000 square feet at 8558 W. 21st St. near 21st and Tyler.
J.R. Rohr, vice president of mortgage retail sales, says the loan production office – it does residential mortgages only – doesn’t need as much space as it used to because a lot of employees are working remotely instead of in a traditional office setting.

Also, the new space will be more of an open concept instead of having individual offices.
Rohr says opening a new office is a chance for “updated space – a little more modern.”
BNC is a Bismarck, N.D.-based bank whose mortgage operations are based in Overland Park. It has been in Wichita since 2008.
The new west-side office will open on Tuesday.
