B&C Barbecue has ‘some buzz about a bar’
B&C Barbecue has been an Old Town restaurant for years, and now it sounds like owner Carey Maurer wants to capitalize on the area’s bar scene as well.
“There’s maybe some buzz about a bar,” he says.
“I want to be a little mysterious,” Maurer says. “Hold back a little bit.”
It’s been obvious that something is in the works to the south of the restaurant at 355 N. Washington.
“It’s going to be an enclosed patio that we can open doors,” Maurer says.
“We are planning on opening later into the evenings and into the night,” he says. “We are going to have TVs and possibly beers to go with that.”
Maurer says he’s going to change the awnings so the restaurant’s long-ago name, B&C Creations, finally is off the building.
So why all the changes now?
“B&C has grown as much as it can grow in the three hours we’re open a day,” Maurer says.
He says he’ll have some more information about his plans in the next month or two.
“There’s just some good things to come.”
