Bill Warren’s new theater company isn’t what it looks like

Less than a month after selling most of his Warren Theatres, is Bill Warren starting a new theater company?

Not exactly.

A recent corporate filing makes it appear as if Warren is starting a new company, but it’s just a legal maneuver.

He says there were two corporations that had formed a partnership in his west-side Palace Theatre, and it needed to be one entity in order to sell his Wichita theaters to Regal Entertainment Group last month.

So Warren’s lawyers created Cinemas Associates Holding.

“They had to do some legal gymnastics,” Warren says. “That’s exactly what it amounted to.”
