Angelo’s Kickstarter campaign a success
Former Angelo’s owner Jack Fasciano needs only four words to sum up how his Kickstarter campaign ended:
“We hit the jackpot.”
Fasciano raised a couple thousand dollars more than the $40,000 he hoped to raise for a take-and-bake pizza business.
He says he received donations from as far away as the Philippines, mostly from former Wichitans and customers who grew up eating his family’s food.
Fasciano’s parents, Angelo and Anna, opened the original Angelo’s in the 1950s, and he grew up in the business. There were several Angelo’s locations over the years.
In 2006, Fasciano closed the last remaining one at 1930 S. Oliver.
Fans have been pleading for its return ever since.
Fasciano says he’s going to start looking for space for his storefront next week.
“I’m looking for a place that has potential for expansion,” he says.
As he said during the campaign, “This is for all of Wichita.”
