A new occupant for the former Dillons space at Prairie Village

At last there’s news for the former Dillons space at the Prairie Village Shopping Center at 13th and Woodlawn.

The Paramount Marketplace, a sister store to the Paramount antique stores on the east and west sides, is going to open on Nov. 1.

No one with the store is commenting yet, but the Facebook page for the Paramount Antique Mall near Kellogg and 135th confirms it.

There’s also a Paramount East Antique Mall in Augusta.

According to Facebook, the new Paramount “will feature not only vintage and antiques but fresh from market decor, boutique clothing & jewelry.”

The store has booth space available. If interested, you can apply at

Dillons vacated its 35,000-square-foot Prairie Village space in 2014.

As Have You Heard? reported last month, there are new owners who plan improvements to the 88,000-square-foot shopping center, which has already included parking upgrades. The center was built in the 1960s and has grown a bit worn over the years.

Look for more information on Paramount Marketplace in late October.
