A convenience store on East 13th has reopened after reaching a payment deal with the state.
The Kansas Department of Revenue had closed M&M Community Mart, 2429 E 13th, two weeks ago because state officials said the store owed more than $71,000 in back taxes. Efforts to receive payments had been unsuccessful, according to a news release from the state, so officials closed the business and seized its assets.
On Tuesday, the state said it had reached a payment arrangement with the business, and that M&M had re-opened.
