High Touch Technologies will serve as the naming sponsor for the Prairie Fire Race Series for 2015, taking place in Wichita May 3 and Oct. 11.

As naming sponsor, High Touch joins presenting sponsor Via Christi Health and other major supporters of the event to help promote and finance the Prairie Fire Marathon Race Series.

According to a news release from High Touch, the races bring more than 30,000 to the area, including about 9,000 runners in various events. The featured event May 3 is the half marathon, while the full marathon is set for Oct. 11.

The High Touch Technologies Marathon Course is known as a fast and flat course and is certified by USA Track & Field, according to the release.

“High Touch has placed an emphasis, especially in recent years to promote healthy lifestyles within our company. We felt this sponsorship gave us an opportunity to promote health in a unique way, not just to our employees but to the Wichita community at large,” Tracy Lucas, director of marketing at High Touch, said in the release.

Formerly the Heart of Wichita Marathon, the Prairie Fire Marathon was first held in 2010 when the Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission took ownership of the event from race director Clark Ensz and expanded to include a half marathon, 5K and one-mile races.
