Citizens Bank of Kansas is offering interest-free loans to those affected by the recent wildfires in south-central Kansas, according to a news release.

Beginning now and running through April, the Kingman-based bank will offer zero percent loans up to $10,000 for three months to those whose property has sustained damages from the fires that have burned hundreds of thousands of acres, the release said.

In the release, the bank noted that ranchers and farmers in the affected counties will have immediate expenses and that any possible aid payments won’t likely be available until later this year.

Those in Barber and Comanche counties affected by the fires that flared up last week are eligible to participate in the loan program. The offer is not limited to current Citizens Bank customers, the release said.

Loans would be through the bank’s Medicine Lodge location in Barber County. For more information, contact Dale Lonker or Tommy Hutson at 620-886-5686.
