CornerBank has a new vice president of mortgage lending, according to a news release.

The Winfield-based bank announced recently that Darren Copp has been named to the position. Copp will be based out of CornerBank’s new Wichita location at 10501 E. Berkeley Square Parkway.

“Darren brings a strong leadership and business development background to CornerBank,” said CornerBank CEO Bruce Schwyhart, in the release. “We are excited to have Darren as part of our mortgage team and look forward to building our mortgage business in our metro areas in addition to current rural markets.”

A Wichita native and graduate of Wichita State University, Copp has more than two decades of experience in mortgage lending and management, according to the release.

In addition to Wichita, CornerBank has locations in Arkansas City, Douglass, Lawrence, Oxford and Wellington. Copp, who worked for another financial institution previously, started in his new position Aug. 10.
