Mesa to acquire more Bombardier regional jetliners
Mesa Airlines said in a news release Wednesday it plans to purchase seven CRJ900 NextGen regional jetliners from Bombardier Inc.
Phoenix-based Mesa did not disclose the cost to purchase those jets, deliveries of which it expects to occur this year.
Mesa operates as American Eagle, US Airways Express and United Express, with more than 400 daily system departures from 91 cities in 36 states, the District of Columbia, Canada and Mexico.
Mesa said the order from Montreal-based Bombardier is in addition to 11 Embraer E-175 regional jets it expects deliveries of this year.
Mesa said it was the launch customer for the CRJ900 in 2001. The new Bombardier order will bring its fleet of CRJ900s to 64.
