First U.S.-assembled Airbus jet to take flight on Monday

Airbus plans to fly on Monday its first A320 narrowbody jetliner assembled in the U.S., the company said Friday.

First flight of the A320 destined for carrier JetBlue has been set for 9:15 a.m. CDT, weather and other factors permitting.

The airplane, parts of which are manufactured by Spirit AeroSystems, will take off from Airbus’ manufacturing site in Mobile, Ala.
