Textron Aviation’s Beechcraft Defense Co. said Wednesday it has signed a contract to provide military training aircraft to the United Kingdom.

The Wichita-based company said the contract with Affinity Flying Training Services calls for 10 T-6C Texan II for the U.K. Ministry of Defence’s Military Flying Training System program.

Deliveries are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2018. Textron Aviation did not disclose the value of the contract. The T-6Cs are manufactured at the company’s east campus at Central and Webb.

The aircraft will be delivered to Affinity Flying Training Services, a joint venture between Elbit Systems and KBR, which was selected as the preferred bidder to provide aircraft and maintenance services to the U.K.’s military trainer program.

Separately, Beechcraft Defense signed a second, five-year contract to provide engineering services, parts support, maintenance training and the placement of on-site representatives for maintenance personnel assigned to the military flying training program.
