GlobalParts in Augusta to assume parts work for older Learjets

Bombardier Business Aircraft has selected GlobalParts.aero in Augusta to assume the inventory and distribution of parts for several models of out-of-production Learjet aircraft.

Under what Bombardier is calling a strategic collaboration, GlobalParts will have primary responsibility for all planning, stocking and distribution of aircraft parts of Learjet 20, 30 and 50 series business jets.

“This agreement will ensure that many more parts will be available at a competitive price and we expect it will have a positive impact on our operators’ cost of ownership,” Bill Molloy, Bombardier Business Aircraft vice president of parts services, said in a news release Monday.

Bombardier said about 2,000 Learjet 20, 30 and 50 series jets were manufactured between the 1960s and early 2000s, the majority of which are still in service.

“We are prepared to enhance support for Learjet 20, Learjet 30 and Learjet 50 series aircraft customers right away,” Malissa Nesmith, GlobalParts’ chief operating officer, said in the release. “We have expanded our inventory of Learjet parts in recent months and have the capability and expertise to repair parts as well. We are working with Bombardier to ensure a seamless transition for this important customer segment.”
