Legendary pilots to keynote December Aero Club luncheon

Pilots Patty Wagstaff, Clay Lacy and Lee Lauderback will keynote the Wichita Aero Club’s December luncheon, the group said Wednesday.

The three legendary pilots will participate in a panel discussion at the luncheon, moderated by aviation photographer Paul Bowen.

The three pilots are known inside and outside the aviation industry for different piloting skills.

Wagstaff is a world champion aerobatic pilot, while Lacy flew as a United Airlines captain before retiring to sell and fly airplanes for Learjet founder Bill Lear. Lacy also is the namesake of Clay Lacy Aviation, a multi-pronged aviation services and sales company based in Van Nuys, Calif.

Lauderback is recognized as one of the world’s foremost P-51 pilots. He also was golf legend Arnold Palmer’s corporate pilot.

The luncheon is set for noon Dec. 15 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Wichita Airport.

Tickets cost for $30 for members or $40 for non-members. They can be purchased at www.wichitaaeroclub.org or by calling 316-665-2699.
