Leasing company BOC Aviation has placed an order for 22 Boeing 737 single-aisle airliners, Boeing said in a news release Tuesday.

The order comprises 11 Next-Generation 737-800s and 11 737 Max 8s, Boeing said.

At current list prices, the value of the order is about $2.27 billion, though large orders such as this are typically discounted.

The order is especially important to Wichita because Spirit AeroSystems manufactures the 737’s fuselage and other major components.

Boeing said in addition to Tuesday’s order, BOC Aviation has ordered 167 737 airplanes, including 50 737 Maxs.

BOC Aviation is owned by the Bank of China and is based in Singapore.
