Spirit’s Lawson receives national award from American Diabetes Association
The American Diabetes Association said Monday it has recognized Spirit AeroSystems CEO Larry Lawson with a national award.
The national organization presented Lawson its Stop Diabetes Volunteer Leadership GIVE Award for his work in Dallas, Atlanta and Wichita in those cities’ Tour de Cure fundraisers.
“Through his efforts the Wichita Tour de Cure has doubled in revenue, raising an unprecedented $400,000 in Wichita,” said Renee Paulsell, American Diabetes Association Heartland regional director, in a news release.
Lawson was previously recognized by the organization in 2007 as Atlanta Father of the Year. In Wichita, he served on the Tour de Cure planning committee in 2014 and led the fundraising campaign as chairman this year.
“I’m extremely proud to accept this award on behalf of our employees who help support the ADA,” Lawson said in the release.
