The information technology system at Spirit AeroSystems is back up and running, the company said Friday afternoon.
Spirit’s specialized enterprise SAP software system went out earlier this week, affecting purchasing, planning and other functions.
“IT systems have now been restored,” Spirit spokesman Ken Evans said in a statement. “As our teams worked the outage, production has continued in the factory. Spirit remains focused on delivering to our customers and has a proven track record of meeting our commitments.”
Shortly after the outage occurred, Spirit started working to put in place business continuity plans that would ensure operations could continue and orders be filled.
