The rotorcraft industry delivered 648 helicopters during the first nine months of 2014, down about a third in deliveries compared to the same time a year ago, an industry trade group said Friday.
“The third quarter deliveries signify a pause in the rotorcraft industry’s strong deliveries over the past several years,” the General Aviation Manufacturers Association said. GAMA compiles delivery numbers for the business aviation and rotorcraft industries.
The billings of the rotorcraft delivered during the first nine months totaled $2.6 billion, a drop of 20 percent from $3.2 billion for the same time a year ago.
The industry delivered 959 helicopters during the first nine months last year, up 32 percent from deliveries so far this year, GAMA said.
