Registration opens for state drone summit in Wichita
State officials on Friday said they have opened registration for the Kansas Unmanned Aerial Systems Summit next month in Wichita.
The summit will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 15 at the National Center for Aviation Training, 4004 N. Webb.
The first-of-its-kind summit will focus on capitalizing on Kansas’ existing aviation assets to grow a UAS industry. It also will include discussions about the use of UAS as a hobby or a business, a UAS flight demonstration and a business development session.
“With this summit we hope to both improve the public perception of UAS and keep Kansas at the forefront of attracting UAS industry to our great state,” Tiffany Brown, director of the Kansas Department of Transportation’s aviation division, said in a news release.
The summit is open to the public but registration is required. To register, see http://www.kansasuassummit.com/.
