Aviation company plans to spend $9.5 million to expand & add 100 jobs at Kansas facility
A global aerospace and defense aftermarket solutions company plans to spend nearly $10 million to expand its existing Kansas facility by 100,000 square feet and add 100 new jobs.
The Kansas Department of Commerce announced that AAR Corp. will spend $9.5 million to expand its operations in Wellington.
AAR Corp. provides aviation services such as maintenance, repair, supply chain and other distribution solutions for commercial and government aviation customers.
The expanded facility is expected to start operating in April. The existing facility has been operating for nearly 60 years, according to a news release.
“AAR CORP. is a well-established company and a top competitor in aviation with a worldwide market,” Lieutenant Governor and Secretary of Commerce David Toland said. “Their expansion not only will bring new jobs to south-central Kansas but will further strengthen our powerful aviation ecosystem, which benefits the entire state.”
AAR Corp. is headquartered in the Chicago area and and operates 60 facilities in 20 countries.
Wellington, a city of 7,568, is a 35 minute drive south of Wichita.
