Vietnamese airline takes delivery of two Cessna Grand Caravan EX planes
Cessna Aircraft Co. has delivered the first two Grand Caravan EX amphibian aircraft to Vietnam’s Hai Au Aviation.
The national passenger airline will use the planes for tourist operations. It’s expected to take deliver of a third plane before the end of the year, Cessna said.
Hai Au Aviation was established by the Thien Minh Group and the Focus Travel Group, which provide a range of travel services.
The airline plans to offer scenic flights to a variety of bays and islands, transport flights and customized flights with the planes.
They have seating for two pilots and up to 12 passengers.
“The comfort of the cabin, the large windows for sightseeing and the floats allowing it to take off and land anywhere are ideal for their missions,” Cristi Tannahill, Textron Aviation senior vice president of turboprop aircraft, said in a statement.
The seaplane service will bring new tourism and travel opportunities to international tourists who come to Vietnam, Luong Hoai Nam, general director of Hai Au Aviation Joint-stock Co., said in a statement. “Customers not only can visit our country’s most famous destinations more quickly and in better comfort, but can also experience Vietnam’s incredible natural scenery from above.”
