The Thunderbirds Air Force demonstration team won't be the only performers at McConnell Air Force Base's first air show, Frontiers in Flight, in six years.

The southeast Wichita air base on Tuesday unveiled a new website just for the Sept. 8-9 show — frontiersinflight.com — that includes nine other aerobatic and related performers. They include Tora, Tora, Tora, a group that performs an aerial re-enactment of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor; the Army Golden Knights parachute demonstration team; and demonstration flights and flybys of the A-10 Warthog, C-17 Globemaster and the KC-135 air refueling tanker, the latter of which is based at McConnell.

The show also will feature 27 exhibitors, including a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) exhibit from Air Force Space Command.

It will be the base's first show since 2012. Since then, the base has undergone $267 million in construction to prepare for the arrival of the KC-46A Pegasus tanker, which eventually will replace McConnell's fleet of KC-135s. The Air Force announced last week delivery of its first KC-46 has been set for October, and is slated for McConnell.

The air show is free and open to the public.
