Report: Average Eisenhower airfare up slightly from year ago

The average fare for a domestic flight from Wichita Eisenhower National Airport edged slightly higher between the fourth quarters of 2013 and 2014.

That’s according to a federal Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics report released this week.

The report said the average domestic fare at Eisenhower was $392.71 in the fourth quarter of 2014, up 0.5 percent from $390.83 in the same quarter in 2013.

The fares are adjusted for inflation.

The fourth quarter 2014 average fare at Eisenhower was nearly even with the average U.S. domestic fare in the same period, which was $392.66, the report said.

The Eisenhower fare was more than than Kansas City, which was $371.85 in the fourth quarter of 2014.

But it was less than than Oklahoma City’s average domestic fare of $415.13, and Tulsa’s $426.79, the report said.
