Wichita open house for B-29 ‘Doc’ set for June 3

The Wichita open house for the B-29 Bomber know as “Doc” has been rescheduled for June 3.

The event, the first local public appearance for the World War II bomber, will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Air Capital Flight Line, 3800 S. Oliver.

Cost is $20 and includes a cockpit tour of the restored Wichita-built airplane as well as lunch and refreshments.

Proceeds will be used to build a permanent hangar for Doc.

Spirit AeroSystems is sponsoring the event.

A parking map and event details will be released later on the Doc’s Friends website, www.b-29doc.com.
