Aviation maintenance professor receives national award

Kansas State University Polytechnic in Salina said Monday one of its aviation faculty members will receive national recognition next month.

Andrew Smith, professor of aviation maintenance management, was named the 2017 Ivan D. Livi Aviation Maintenance Educator of the Year by the Aviation Technician Education Council.

Smith, who’s taught at the school for 13 years, will receive the award at AETC’s annual conference on April 1 in Seattle.
