Wichita agency hires former demo pilot, aviation marketer Ron Gunnarson

Wichita-based advertising agency Sullivan, Higdon & Sink has hired Ron Gunnarson as practice director for aviation, aerospace and defense.

Gunnarson comes to the post with a 26-year career in aviation marketing for brands that include Beechcraft, Cessna, Hawker and Travel Air.

He also was a demonstration pilot earlier in his career and is type rated in a number of business jets and turboprops.

“We feel very fortunate to have Ron on the team,” Tom Bertels, SHS managing partner, said in a news release from the agency. “He’s been deeply embedded in the industry and brings an executive-level point of view that will benefit both our staff and our clients. Gunnarson earned his private pilot’s license at 18 graduated from the University of North Dakota with degrees in aeronautical studies and public relations.
