U.S. airlines see cheap gas in August
The federal Bureau of Transportation Statistics said the fuel price for U.S. airlines in August fell by nearly 43 percent from a year ago.
BTS said the cost per gallon for U.S. airlines’ scheduled services in August was $1.68, compared with $2.93 in August 2014.
For the year, the average cost per gallon is $1.96, nearly 35 percent lower than the same period in 2014, BTS said.
