Textron Aviation’s Cessna Aircraft Co. provided an update on the travels of its new Citation Latitude, including a 4,620 nautical-mile roundtrip to Maui, Hawaii.
The first leg of the trip to the Aloha state earlier this week began in Santa Barbara, Calif. Cessna said the Latitude — which received type certification last month — made the 2,147-nautical-mile leg in five hours and 45 minutes with two pilots and five passengers on board. The midsize business jet reached a cruising altitude of 43,000 feet.
The return trip covered 2,473 nautical miles and terminated in Scottsdale, Ariz. Cessna said flight time on that leg was also five hours and 45 minutes.
The trans-Pacific flight followed coast-to-coast flights earlier this month: A nonstop 2,442-nautical-mile trip from Santa Barbara to Bangor, Maine; and a return, 2,397-nautical-mile trip to San Diego.
