Being born on board a commercial airline flight apparently has its perks.

For Christoph Penton, the perk is free flights for him and a guest to anywhere Spirit Airlines flies on his birthday, for life, according to a news release Tuesday from the Florida-based airline.

His mother, Cristina Penton of Phoenix, was aboard a recent Spirit flight traveling from Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., to Dallas when she told flight attendants she wasn’t feeling well and requested medical attention. Before the diverted airplane could land at New Orleans Louis Armstrong Airport, the 7-pound, 19.5 inch Chistoph was delivered with the help of a pediatrician and nurse who were also on the flight.
