Airbus U.S. begins first A320 jetliner assembly
Airbus’ U.S. manufacturing plant in Mobile, Ala., has received its first A320 passenger jet for assembly.
Up until Monday, the 27 aircraft assembled at the plant have been larger A321s. Eventually the plant will assemble all three A320 Family aircraft: A319, A320 and A321.
The plant was opened in July 2015.
The first U.S. assembled A320 is expected to be delivered to Spirit Airlines this summer.
