Air ambulance provider EagleMed has added another helicopter to its fleet and plans to station it in Colorado.

The Wichita-based company acquired a medically equipped Airbus AS350 AStar, which will be put into service in Colorado at “a new base we haven’t announced yet,” spokesman Jim Gregory said Thursday.

The helicopter will join 14 others in its fleet. EagleMed also operates a fleet of 20 medically equipped Beechcraft King Air turboprop airplanes and six ground ambulances.

The company has bases in 12 states.
