Vineyard, security sneak-in specialist present at 1 Million Cups

The founders of a local grape vineyard and a corporate security firm presented at Wichita’s 1 Million Cups gathering for entrepreneurs.

1 Million Cups ICT is a weekly gathering designed to aid entrepreneurs by making contacts in the community and gaining awareness. It meets from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesdays. Next week’s event will be at Wichita State University’s Old Town offices, 238 N. Mead.

Prairie Hill Vineyard

Founder: Dan Stockemer

Pitch: Stockemer is turning his old family farm near Colwich into Prairie Hill Vineyard. He grows an acre of grapes that go to a local winery and is developing the event side to include weddings, picnics and corporate meetings. He has room for about 35 to 75 people but plans to expand that to 300 or so. He is also looking at developing a corn maze.

Status: The facility is open for business, and he is busy expanding it.

Need: People to schedule events there.

Red Strategies

Founder: Brandon Rozario

Pitch: Rozario is trying to develop Red Strategies, where he would be hired by large companies to get into their buildings and grounds to find out where their security shortcomings are.

Status: He is seeking corporate clients, but those clients would have to be among the largest employers in Wichita.

Need: Clients in the energy, health care, entertainment and transportation sectors.

Next week: Augustino Brewing and Haul-ya.
