McCurdy Auction, Kansas Leadership Center make 1 Million Cups pitches
The general counsel for an auction service and the CEO of the Kansas Leadership Center put forth their visions at Wednesday’s 1 Million Cups ICT event.
1 Million Cups ICT is a weekly gathering designed to aid entrepreneurs by making contacts in the community and gaining awareness. It meets from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesdays. Next week’s event will be at Wichita State University’s Old Town offices, 238 N. Mead.

McCurdy Auction
General counsel: Ty Patton
Pitch: The longtime Wichita auctioneering company recently began facilitating online auctions. The company hopes to stay ahead of the curve in its industry in the online marketplace.
Status: McCurdy has been in business since 1982 and began offering online auctions in June.
Need: More awareness about the availability of participating in online auctions.

Kansas Leadership Center
CEO and president: Ed O’Malley
Pitch: The nonprofit leadership training center based in Wichita is looking to develop additions to curriculum centered around entrepreneurship.
Status: The center opened its doors in 2007.
Need: For business and civic leaders to recognize the importance of leadership qualities in their organizations and communities.
