Owner sells half of Sumner County wind farm

EDF Renewable Energy announced this week that it sold half of the Slate Creek Wind Project in Sumner County to a consortium led by Axium Infrastructure.

The 150-megawatt capacity Slate Creek project started operation on Dec. 29. The power is sold to Kansas City Power & Light on a 20-year, fixed-price power purchase agreement.

EDF RE, one of the largest renewable energy developers in North America, will continue to own the other half of the Slate Creek project. It also will continue to provide part of the current operations and maintenance.

EDF RE owns 8 gigawatts of wind, solar, storage, biomass and biogas projects in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
