Chamber names developer Steve Clark its Uncommon Citizen
The Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce has named real estate investor and developer Steve Clark its 2015 Uncommon Citizen.
The award, the chamber’s highest individual honor, is given to a person who has consistently contributed to the community in business, through philanthropy and participation in its cultural, social and civic activities.
Clark became a licensed Realtor at 18 and has been active in real estate for 45 years, according to a Chamber news release. He has owned and managed more than 5 million square feet of property in his career, including the Waterfront mixed-use development at 13th and Webb in northeast Wichita, in which he is partners with Johnny Stevens.
He has worked as a volunteer and served on the boards of a number of charitable organizations and municipal boards, including the Greater Wichita YMCA.
“Steve’s long term commitment to real estate and business activities in the Wichita area and across the country made him an apparent choice for the distinguished and highest honor of the Chamber,” said Roger Lowe, member of the Chamber’s Honors Night Committee and Wichita State University vice president emeritus.
Clark will be recognized with the Uncommon Citizen award at the chamber’s 2015 Honors Night, which will be held April 21.
