Analytics firm: April numbers show home prices up in Wichita
Wichita-area home prices, including distressed sales, increased 2.7 percent in April when compared to the same month in 2015, according to data from CoreLogic.
From March to April of this year, prices in Wichita rose 1.5 percent, according to the California-based property information and analytics firm.
Nationally, home prices increased 6.2 percent in April when compared with April 2015 and increased 1.8 percent in April when compared with March of this year, according to the data.
“Low mortgage rates and a lean for-sale inventory have resulted in solid price growth in most markets,” said Frank Nothaft, an economist for CoreLogic, in a news release. “An expected gradual rise in interest rates and more homes offered for sale are expected to moderate appreciation in the coming year.”
