Charity
The annual Starbird-Devlin Rod & Customs Charities Car Show, held in January at Century II, set an all-time record charitable donation, raising $150,000 for two Wichita charities: Starkey and the Arc of Sedgwick County. Each organization will receive $75,000.
Net-Ability awarded its Spring Technology Grants to the Wichita Women’s Initiative Network and ICT S.O.S. The grant is $10,000 for technology equipment and 10 hours of consulting services from Net-Ability.
The Wichita Manufacturers Association awarded 21 $1,000 scholarships to area high school and college students. The scholarships were funded by Globe Engineering, the Bradbury Group, the Wichita Manufacturing Association, Aerospace Systems & Components, Wichita Area Technical College, Workforce Alliance of South Central Kansas, Great Plains Ventures, Birds Eye Holdings, Great Plains Industries and Allen, Gibbs & Houlik.
