IMA promotes Wichita State, Derby High grad to VP position
Wichita area native Erin Syring has been promoted to a new executive position with IMA Inc.
Syring, a Derby High School product and 1991 graduate of Wichita State University, started in her newly created role as executive vice president of operations for the company on Wednesday.
Syring joined the company in 2012 and was soon promoted to run IMA commercial lines in Wichita and Kansas City, according to a news release.
“If there’s one word to describe my role, it would be collaboration,” said Syring during a phone interview Thursday. “It’s to bring in the resources we have all across our organization to provide the best possible service to our clients. The role basically centers on the sharing of resources and the sharing of knowledge.”
A resident of Overland Park and a lawyer by trade, Syring went to law school at the University of Kansas and has experience in the realm of insurance litigation. She will be responsible for IMA resources in Kansas City, Wichita, Denver and Dallas.
IMA also announced on Wednesday the promotions of Sandy Harvath and Brian Sandy. Harvath will serve as president of IMA of Colorado, while Sandy will move to the role of president of Signature Select, an IMA subsidiary insurance brokerage, according to the release.
A financial services company specializing in risk management, insurance and employee benefit solutions, IMA employs close to 600 people in Kansas, Colorado, New York and Texas. The company is headquartered in Wichita and Denver.
