Construction job fair set for Saturday
A construction career fair will take place Saturday at the Wichita Workforce Center, according to a news release.
More than 20 construction firms are expected to be represented at the fair, which will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at the workforce center at 2021 N. Amidon, according to the release.
The fair is a collaborative effort by the workforce center, the Wichita Metro Chamber of Commerce, Wichita Area Technical College, the Greater Wichita Partnership and the Associated General Contractors of America of Kansas, the release said.
The goal of the event is to match job seekers with construction companies, which are facing a shortage of trained workers needed for area projects, according to the release.
For more information and to see a list of participating companies, job-seekers are asked to visit watc.edu/construction. Wichita area construction companies can still participate by registering for a table on the same website, the release said.
