Brad Douglas has been hired as CEO for the newly-formed Heartland Credit Union Association, according to a news release.
Douglas, who comes to the Kansas and Missouri credit union trade organization from Alliance Benefit Group in Kansas City, Mo., will begin his new role at the end of March, according to the release.
A licensed attorney, Douglas previously served as a regional administrator for the Small Business Administration, working out of both Kansas City and Washington, D.C., and has served as director and chairman of CommunityAmerica Credit Union.
“I look forward to going to work every day in an industry I’m passionate about and believe that our association can help credit unions thrive while positively impacting credit union members’ lives,” said Douglas in a statement.

Douglas, a Kansas City area native, was hired following a national search, according to the release. Heartland is based in Kansas City, Mo.
Heartland is the result of the consolidation of the Kansas Credit Union Association and the Missouri Credit Union Association. Both Marla Marsh, CEO of the Kansas organization and Don Cohenour, CEO of the Missouri organization, are set to retire at the end of the month.
