Advanced materials manufacturer Nitride Solutions has signed an agreement with the Greater Wichita Economic Development Coalition that puts the company on a rapid growth path.

The company, which employs 10 people, has agreed to spend $6 million to renovate its building at 3333 W. Pawnee and buy new equipment. It also plans to hire 39 more people, with an average salary of $58,000 a year, over the next five years.

Nitride Solutions seeks to improve production of aluminum nitride products used in advanced electronics, such as those to make water safer, power generation more reliable and communications faster.

With the agreement, Nitride Solutions will remain in Wichita. The state of Kansas provided support for the expansion project through a tax incentive program.
